We offer a variety of small, personal weaving classes. If you see a class that you would like to take but it is not
scheduled or at a time that you can’t come please email Robin to schedule a class.
Fall 2022: I started to offer virtual classes in 2021, but it seems difficult to offer the kind of class I like to present.
The exception is our Wednesday Weavers—Zoom is great for that! And we throw in a few in-person activities as well.
Color on the Loom
Color on the Loom
Explore how colors interact with each other on and off the loom and how different weave structures impact color.
Day 1: Discuss color choices and the effects of sett and weave structure on the final appearance of the piece. Design a scarf using multiple colors and weave structures, wind the warp, and warp the loom.
Day 2: Weave the scarf, making choices about weft as you go.
This class will not only give you insight about choosing color combinations; it is also a great refresher if you haven't done much weaving, are coming back to weaving after a long time or want to learn back-to-front warping.
You will be guided through the whole process of warping and weaving and finish your scarf during the class period.
Class size: 2-5 students
Experience: You must have basic weaving experience even if you have woven only one piece (or taken the Learn to Weave class).
Dates:
T/W, October 29-30, 2024, 9:30-4:30
Price: $270, includes wool/silk (Zephyr) or cotton yarn, and use of loom.
Email or call 707-688-3493 to schedule another date.
