Year to Remember 2022 Blanket
I got the idea for the Year to Remember blanket when someone came to buy yarn to knit a “temperature blanket”. The idea is to create a unique design by assigning colors to temperature ranges and to knit a row or two each day. I thought that sounded like a fun idea but I am a weaver, not a knitter. It isn’t practical to devote a loom to one project for a whole year. I decided to weave a Temperature Blanket for a previous year. After awhile I thought up the idea of the custom blanket for people who wanted to commemorate a special time and place. The info to order a custom blanket is here.
The blankets shown here represent 2022 in Vacaville, California. High temperatures ranged from the 40’s to over 100 so I used 7 colors in the weft. Each pair of weft threads represents one day. I used three different colorways for the same stripe pattern.

Blanket 1299-1 - 52” x 67” plus fringe (hot - yellow, orange, red)
Blanket 1299-2 - 52 x 67”, hemmed (hot - pinks and red )
Blanket 1299-3 - 52” x 65.5”, hemmed (hot - gold and rust)
