V-Shawl Kit in American Maid™ Cotton
Now our wonderful snuggly v-shawl kit is available in naturally colored, U.S. grown cotton!
Loom requirement: 4-shafts, 26” weaving width, 8 dpi reed.
I have woven only a few of the many color patterns I have thought of for this shawl. More versions will be added here as I weave samples and get photos. Yarn comes on 1.5, 4, 8, and 16 ounce cones. Some kits will include extra yardage of some colors (matching minimum cone size to yardage requirement so you don’t run out). Hopefully you will be inspired to weave more projects with this exciting yarn.
Notes about Color Versions: A2 is the same plan as A1 but using Light and Dark Green instead of Light and Dark Brown.
Use double weave and a unique method of weaving a fold to weave this shawl. The shawl is woven in two layers, using two shuttles, up to the point where the layers are joined to create the V. At that point successive pairs of warp threads are cut at the back of the loom and then used as weft. The shawl fronts have vertical stripes and those stripes cross in the back to create a plaid.
