Catching up with September's Road Trip - the End
We left Boulder after a great dinner at Barry Schacht and Jane Patrick’s home. Dan drove as usual. We didn’t have a plan of how far we’d get so he just kept on driving. We stopped at a couple of rest stops to take a break but didn’t want to do the whole thing of rearranging enough stuff to try and sleep in the back of the truck. Sleeping in the front is pretty miserable. At one point before Salt Lake City I’d had enough and said that I’d drive. By the time we got to the Great Salt Lake it was dawn.
We stopped at the California Trail Center in the middle of Nevada. We’ve thought about stopping before but all the other times we have been here it has been after hours. This museum is worth the stop.
I guess I shouldn’t complain about sleeping in the front of the truck. We have it pretty easy.
There were some trails to walk on as well as the inside exhibits.
We made it home in the middle of the day.
Somebody was glad to see us.
The sheep knew that I’d been gone too.
Even the not normally friendly ones clustered around me.
We had a great time on this trip. I’m glad that I have my photos to go back through as a reminder.
