Catching up With September's Road Trip - Day 7 & 8
tWe ended this strip in Boulder at the Schacht 50th Anniversary Dealer Weekend. I shared photos of hte first day here. Also on that day dealers were offered a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Schacht factory. Dan was glad he stuck around for that.
The shop is filled with state-of-the-art woodworking equipment and an amazing filtration system to catch all the sawdust.
It was fascinating to see where all our favorite tools are made..
This 11” boat shuttle has always been my favorite. I don’t have all the tools on the website that I should but I always have these in the shop. I do have the anniversary issued shuttles in special colors!
The tour was Friday. On Saturday and Sunday there were presentations for dealers—learning more about the Schacht products and tips for teaching. Dan found a mountain to hike while I stayed at Schacht.
All the Schacht spinning wheels in one place.
We watched as a Baby Wolf loom was put together.
We also had the opportunity to shop for our own shops. I have this introductory rigid heddle kit at the shop now.
The weekend was packed with helpful information and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Snacks on Saturday night.
Sunday afternoon’s snack warrants mention but I don’t remember what it was called. It’s like a root beer float but using this other soft drink—it was Very Good.
After the Sunday presentations we had some free time before all of us were going to meet at Jane and Barry’s house for dinner. Dan and I walked around the University of Colorado campus. We met up with all the other dealeers at a full house for an excellent dinner. After that Dan and I got on the road for home. There will be one more blog post with photos of that.
